ABOUT ME

I have Doctorate in Psychology and have been seeing adult individuals and couples in private practice for over fifteen years.

My training is in all facets of mental health, with specific extensive experience treating relationship issues, anxiety disorders, substance dependence, and depression. I also specialize in working with the GLBTQI community, and actors/artists.

Therapy is simply a process to help you discover more about yourself to live a long, productive life.  It's important that individualized care is given when dealing with treatment of individuals seeking therapy.

I believe the most important relationship we will ever have is the relationship we have with ourselves. We live in our bodies and our minds 24/7 and are so often at odds with what is inside of us. We dislike, belittle, cajole, judge, and hold ourselves up to rigid standards...and all within our own private universe.

How we relate to ourselves will determine how we relate to our partners, others, as well as to environmental issues, and, ultimately, will determine how happy we are.

Although I find it most useful to use somewhat of an eclectic approach, giving the space and freedom to mold therapy around the client, I am most inclined to use the Self Psychology approach. Self Psychology addresses itself to relationships and their internalization, distortions, and repetition.
